You may associate the need for an eye exam with replacing your eyeglasses or contacts. While it's important to see well, certain eye diseases can develop which do not adversely affect your vision in the early stages.
Unlike the rest of your body, your eyes rarely hurt when something is wrong. During your examination we will prescribe the best corrective lenses for your individual needs. In addition, we will evaluate for glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, and other eye diseases before they turn into something more serious. We can even alert you to general health conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and multiple sclerosis.
If you are thinking about wearing contact lenses, we will be glad to schedule an appointment for your contact lens evaluation. We will discuss your suitability for contacts lens wear, wearing options, and necessary lens care and follow up requirements.
If you are unhappy with your current contacts or have been told you couldn't wear contacts because of dry eyes or too much astigmatism, we can design a program to meet your specific needs. We even have bifocal contacts if you need correction for both distance and near.
One in four children have an undiagnosed vision problem that can lead to difficulty in learning. Children who don't see well rarely complain about their vision. They believe that images are supposed to be blurry because they have never seen them any other way.
Since vision changes can occur without you or your child noticing them, your child should visit us at least once every two years, or more frequently, if specific problems or risk factors exist.
Remember, a school vision or pediatrician's screening is not a substitute for a thorough eye examination.
We offer complimentary laser vision correction consultation to see if this amazing procedure is right for you.
There are many factors that need to be considered before deciding on having laser vision correction. We will discuss them carefully with you during your consultation to determine whether or not you may be a good candidate for laser vision correction.
We are affiliated and work closely with the surgeons at Coastal Vision and NVISION Laser Eye Center. Once a decision has been made for surgery, we will co-manage with the surgeon in your pre- and post-operative care to insure that all goes smoothly.
